This morning little Sunny was lying in his cage without moving. Peter came over to the main house with both him and his cage. He moved the birds the other day from the guest house to the shed, where they use to stay. We thought it was warm enough now.
The two other parrots are doing fine - but Sunny was quiet, though still breathing, and you could see his eyes was moving behind his eyelids.
We gave him a little water with a pipette - and tried to hold him warm in our hands, talking to him gently, telling him he would make it. We moved the cage towards a small heater we have and placed some fresh hay in the bottom of the cage to place him on.
At a moment he suddenly seemed better. He looked at us and he moved a little. He could sit by himself.
We placed some fresh water, some food and I cut a little piece of apple and placed in front of him - and then we had to head work :( Though both of us felt terrible leaving him. He was sitting up when we left, all puffed, but with closed eyes.
When Peter went home today he found him lying down - gone to better places.
We're still not sure what caused it. I have a feeling he might have flewn into the bars somehow and hit his head. He damanged himself once before - Peter came over and there was blood all over - but back then it wasn't this serious.
Poor little creature :( May he rest in peace!
